Malwa Group of Institutions (MGI) kick-started E Week with compassion and grit. M-Tycoons, as they call themselves, staged an activity called ‘Smallpreneur’, where they created a platform for women from nearby villages to spread awareness about MSME (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises).
The main idea was to educate them about the government schemes for women empowerment, which would further help them in setting up small businesses, thereby making them self-sufficient with minimal investment. Anganwadi workers also joined hands with the students to facilitate the initiative and helped these women comprehend the concepts better.
“Woman must not accept; she must challenge. She must not be awed by that which has been built up around her; she must reverence that woman in her which struggles for expression.”
– Margaret Sanger
The Institute believes that entrepreneurs are not always born but can also be identified, trained and created, thereby making awareness an integral part of E Week and the campaigns run by them.
The other highlight of the day was the Flash Mob, which took place at Treasure Island, Indore. Celebrating the spirit of a woman, the students MGI danced to the beat of popular songs and spread awareness about women empowerment and safety. Their energy and rhythm unified a large crowd. Vibrant posters were being circulated, covering stories and messages of motivation, saying ‘get up and go’.
This week-long drive will surely commemorate more such compassionate actions by the students and distinguished faculties of this institution which help understand and practice the true essence of E Week.
